Forming in 2008 – just as a growing number of Australian households were beginning to embrace solar energy – our outstanding Perth-based team possesses 60+ years of industry experience. Our Evolution
Connect Solar’s roots are grounded in Western Australia’s building industry, having been founded in 2008 by Kim Robson, who began his electrical apprenticeship in the sector.
Sharing a passion for the environment and energy efficiency, Kim’s son Brad followed in his footsteps, becoming an electrician and joining Connect Solar from the outset.
With Brad at the helm, the company transformed in 2017 into Solar My Home WA, where it solidified its position as one of WA’s best and most reputable solar companies in an increasingly competitive market.
Today, the business has come full circle. It remains family and WA-owned – and continues to be led by Brad – but is once again operating as Connect Solar, a name that supports its ongoing expansion and underscores its expertise in connecting clients across the residential and commercial sectors with quality customised solar solutions.

Our superior standards ensure we use fully licensed in-house electricians for all installations. We’re also SAA (Solar Accreditations Australia) accredited. Brad possesses an enviable knowledge of the solar energy industry, having been immersed in it since 2007, when he started installing solar PV systems.
A qualified electrician, he completed his apprenticeship under his dad, Kim, who instilled in him a permanent passion for the renewable energies sector.
Brad thrives on staying up-to-date on the latest innovations in the solar energy space and constantly seeks to raise the bar in helping clients adopt these new technologies into their homes and businesses.
A natural leader, he prioritises the development and mentoring of his growing team and strives to continually set a new benchmark in WA’s ever-evolving solar supply industry.
Brad is also a road cycling enthusiast who has represented Australia.

Jade has been a key part of the Connect Solar team since 2018.
A keen interest in the environment and health led Jade to attain a Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Health) and a Graduate Diploma in Work Health & Safety, as well as complete the Perth Marathon in 2021.
Her Connect Solar roles see her managing bookings and client interactions, and monitoring and improving health and safety.
She is also responsible for the delivery and maintenance of our Health, Safety and Environmental Management System to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice.

Hayley joined us in 2021, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience in administration, account management and event management.
Holding previous roles at Air New Zealand and in corporate travel management, she adeptly supports our team, handling Connect Solar’s event management, supplier tenders, and key client reviews, and expertly liaises with our extensive customer base.

An integral member of the Connect Solar team, Danielle capably handles our contract processing, data management, and assists with our monthly and quarterly key client reviews.
She also assists with our client and customer service and, away from the Connect Solar office, is a volunteer fire fighter and mum of three.

As the original founder and leader of Connect Solar and spending many years working as a qualified electrician, Kim boasts a rare depth of knowledge of the industry.
During his time as a CEC Accredited Solar Installer and CEC Accredited Battery Storage Installer, he’s been involved in the installation of thousands of domestic and commercial solar PV systems and battery storage solutions.
While managing Connect Solar, Kim also and assisted eight electrical apprentices to successfully complete their trade, while overseeing a team of ten.

His desire to formally qualify as an electrician was sparked while undertaking post-high school studies in electrical engineering.
Slade’s commitment to support the long-term health of the environment triggered his move into the renewable energies sector.
He has an outstanding work ethic, demonstrates high attention to detail and displays a clear dedication to safety and compliance, all while remaining focused on ensuring client satisfaction.

In 2019, Matt began a mature age electrical apprenticeship under the guidance of Connect Solar.
An integral member of our team, he has now supported the statewide installation of thousands of domestic and commercial solar PV systems, as well as assisting with the quality rollout of effective battery storage solutions.
Matt loves a challenge and, as such, specialises in electrical fault finding, as well as expertly handling service and repair tasks.

He joined us in 2023 as an apprentice electrician and has demonstrated his ability to work hard to quickly expand his knowledge, including gaining a thorough understanding of industry requirements.
